Career development

Working together, learning from each other

We are a multidisciplinary partnership, constantly pooling our knowledge to support each of our partners.

We form a team of lawyers for each transaction, with partners and counsel adopting a hands-on approach, ensuring we constantly learn from one another whilst developing specialist and generalist legal skills.

Our qualified, dedicated team of professionals are on hand to support your work (including office and knowledge development, IT specialists and assistants).

A long-term view of your development

Our regular in-house training programme (including internal induction and Luxembourg law immersion) is open to all our lawyers, with additional specialist streams for our associates and students.

We also offer language courses and encourage additional external legal study (with discretionary grants available for professional projects).

We are open-minded about progression and encourage our lawyers to pursue their own career path. For associates and more experienced lawyers, a dedicated partner or counsel will closely guide your development.

Another way to be international

We choose not to have formal affiliations, but regularly work alongside some of the most respected firms in the world, who share our commitment to technical excellence.

Through these daily interactions, you will gain exposure to best practice in law across various jurisdictions - we often exchange seminar programmes with peer firms.

Through our Hong Kong office, and our relationships with clients and other law firms, we can offer you the opportunity to work abroad on secondment.

Our bright and spacious premises are stimulating working environments – colleagues with different levels of experience share offices.

Exceptionally stimulating work

We have a track record of supporting international clients (encompassing banks, financial sector professionals, private equity houses, investment funds, insurance companies and corporations) through significant and complex cross-border deals and transactions.

Our aim is always to deliver a responsive service, pragmatic advice and work of the highest standard to clients: we expect you to gain immense personal satisfaction in the excellence of your craft.

Elvinger Hoss Prussen is committed to create an inspiring work environment where team members can thrive. This includes an active exchange between colleagues and teams, a positive attitude and a focus on well-being. Over the past two years, the possibility to work from home has become an important pillar of the flexibility and work-life-balance.

We are committed to keep this flexibility. Henceforth everybody whose job can be done efficiently in home-office may work from home up to two 2 days a week or 5 consecutive days per month, in accordance with the needs of the specific activity, mission and the general service.

For cross-border workers, the relevant bilateral conventions between Luxembourg and the home country as well as the European regulations on social security and international law will apply.

Free from external control & rewarding high standards

We act autonomously, without external influence, giving us more control over our work and the operation of our firm.

This means decisions about your career are made on site, by senior lawyers you are familiar with and with whom you work regularly.

We offer competitive compensation at all levels (including students), with discretionary bonuses for those who distinguish themselves.
