On 22nd November, Partner Pierre Elvinger, member of the board of directors of the European Employment Lawyers Association (EELA) participated in a panel covering the subjects: Whistleblowing and the presentation of the Luxleaks case. The discussion centered on the decisions made by the Luxembourg courts and the necessary legislative changes in Luxembourg in regards to the execution of Directive (EU) 2019/1937 known as "Whistleblowing" of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23rd October 2019 on the protection of people who report violations of Union law.
The Panel organized by EELA and ERA (European Law Academy) as part of the annual seminar on European labour law. Besides the panel discussion on Whistleblowing, the seminar also covered the following topics:
- the Work-Life Balance in relation to Directive (EU) 2019/1158 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 June 2019, concerning the work-life balance of parents and caretakers and repealing Directive 2010/18 / EU Council,
- the Transparent and Predictable Working Conditions related to Directive (EU) 2019/1152 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 June 2019, relating to transparent and predictable working conditions in the European Union,
- Labour Mobility in relation to the Directive (EU) 2018/957 of the European Parliament, and the Council of June 28, 2018, amending Directive 96/71 / EC concerning the posting of workers in the framework of the provision of services, and in relation to Regulation (EU) 2019/1149 of the European Parliament and the Council, establishing the European Labour Authority, amending Regulations (EC) No 883/2004, (EU) No 492/2011 and (EU) 2016 / 589, and repealing Decision (EU) 2016/344.
