Orange Week on Square Winston Churchill
AXA Assurances, Clifford Chance, CNFL, Delvaux Notary, Elisabeth, Elvinger Hoss Prussen, Embassy of Germany, Embassy of the United Kingdom, Embassy of France, Luxembourg Bar Association, Luxembourg Stock Exchange and VMC3 gathered for a flash mob to form the word “NO” on square Winston Churchill.
Orange Week, launched by the United Nations, is a period of activism against gender-based violence that concludes with the International Human Rights Day.
“NO” was inspired by the “Lët’z say NO to violence against women” campaign launched by CNFL, the National Council of Women in Luxembourg.
The Declaration on the Elimination of Violence Against Women issued by the UN General Assembly in 1993, defines violence against women as “any act of gender-based violence that results in, or is likely to result in, physical, sexual or psychological harm or suffering to women, including threats of such acts, coercion or arbitrary deprivation of liberty, whether occurring in public or in private life.”
