On 18 May 2021, Partner Gary Cywie moderated a webinar devoted to new technologies in the financial sector. Gary is a member of the Editorial Board of PIN CODE, the Revue internationale de la propriété intellectuelle et du numérique, which organised the conference.

The presenters analysed outsourcing in the banking sector in the light of the recommendations of the European Banking Authority, but also from the angle of the use of artificial intelligence. The use of outsourcing and artificial intelligence most often involves the processing of personal data. The conference addressed this subject by evaluating the European Banking Federation’s response to the public consultation on the guidelines of the European Data Protection Committee: controller or processor? Finally, the speakers presented the existing regulations - through the vision of French judges and regulations in preparation regarding current digital assets and their future development.
